I've Been Tagged!

1. I was 10 years old.

Wow! Did I look like a nerd or what?!

2. I was starting 5th grade (I loved Ms. Henson)!

3. I was living with my parents and sister at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey (since I was almost 8...and where I remained - for the most part - until marrying Jason 10 months after we graduated from High School).

1. Jason and I were only married a little over one year and we were living at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC (Jason's first assignment after enlisting in the Air Force).

2. We were in our second year of college and I was working on base at the youth center (to pay for school and car payments).

3. We were waiting to find out if Jason would be accepted into the Air Force ROTC program and into University of Portland for the Spring Semester (of course he did and we moved to Portland, Oregon 3 months later where Jason went to University of Portland and I went to Concordia University/worked for the next 3 1/2 years).

1. Jason was starting his second year of medical school.

2. I was almost 7 months pregnant with Kristin and still working at Jason's school in the Surgery Dept.

3. We were living on Andrews AFB in Maryland and we only lived 1 hour away from Jason's parents and siblings, so we enjoyed driving down every weekend to go visit them (which made moving here even more difficult)!

1. I was having Hawaii withdrawals (we had been back for a couple of months, but I still missed being in Hawaii - where we had been living for 3 months during Jason's OB/Gyn and Psychiatry rotations). Even though we would have enjoyed it more if we actually had a house there and didn't have to spend $$$ on a rental car (by the way - thanks for helping us pay for some of that Mommy and Daddy)!!

2. We visited my family in Washington State. I CANNOT believe that we haven't been back to visit since then! Is that horrible or what?! Money issues, Jason's horrible schedule and certain circumstances have kept us from being able go out and visit, but hopefully we can get out there sometime soon! I'm thankful that my parents came out to visit us last summer and the summer before (my nephew and Grandma too!), so even though we haven't been back home - we've at least been able to visit with them. Sorry Mommy and Dadroo! We're overdue for a visit!!

3. We were still living in Maryland and Jason was in his last year of medical school and we were still trying for a second baby (9 months later I was finally pregnant with Katie!).

1. Jason was excited to be finished with his Internal Medicine Internship and even more excited to finally have started his Anesthesiology Residency.

Jason's first call night as an Anesthesiology Intern (look at all of those freakin' pagers!)

2. We were living at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX (where we still are...unfortunately) and had just moved from a two bedroom house to the three-bedroom house next door a few months after we had Katie (what the military considers a privilege for families with more than one baby).

3. We drove out to Virginia to visit Tony before he was deployed to Iraq for a second time.

Everyone was here (except for James-who is stationed in Germany and Rachel's husband Nate-who was contracting over in Iraq at the time)

This year so far!

1. We moved into our third house (in the same neighborhood on base mind you) after the base decided to condemn our previous house (along with a few others) for being too unsafe/unhealthy to live in. I can't see how the house we're in now as being any better, but I won't complain! It's a teeny bit bigger, it's in a better location and it has a better view!

Before we fixed up the yard and garden

2. We lost Jason's brother and one of our best friends, Tony, who was killed in action in Iraq this past April. We miss him dearly. :(

3. I started home schooling Kristin in Kindergarten and she started gymnastics and swimming lessons.

Yesterday!

1. Picked up my friend Cami from the airport and dropped her off at her house. Yes - we missed church, but I couldn't make her wait at the airport for over an hour until we got out of church! I am sad to have missed our pastor's second sermon on the Road to Armageddon though! We heard his first sermon in this series last weekend and it was interesting stuff (and a tad bit scary if you're not ready for it)! I think there's still a couple more sermons left in the series, so we'll be able to catch the rest of it.

2. Spent some time at Costco with Jason and the girls sampling some yummy samples, took our 2-month old Imac computer to the Apple store to find out why it's so slow, tried to buy a clown fish at our favorite pet store (only to find out that the store closed down), went to Target for Kristin's art supplies for school and picked up hot wings from Buffalo Wild Wings to go.

3. I walked/jogged 2 miles around the track at the base gym (to work off those yummy wings of course!).

Today!

1. Jason is working today and on call tonight at the hospital (yes - on Labor Day).

2. I walked on the treadmill for 2 miles, took a shower, ate breakfast and did home school with Kristin (we weren't going to take a break from school if Jason couldn't take a break from work!).

3. Went for a walk around the neighborhood with the girls, made lunch, cleaned up the house, checked email and facebook and now I'm on this thing! I need to get off and get me and the girls some dinner!

Tomorrow!

1. Home school Kristin, go to the library to check out some books for Kristin and take her to swimming lesson.

2. Getting the oil changed on our Highlander.

3. Start a massive cleaning of the entire house - to get ready for Laura's jubilant arrival a week from now!! We can't have her staying in an untidy house now can we?! ;)

Next Year!

1. Having our 3rd baby (here's the ultrasound to prove it)! Right now - it's only 4 inches long and weighs the size of an apple, but he/she will be about 6 months old this time next year!
*Out of all of the great shots the technician had to choose from, this was the best she could do. Rrrrr... I'm surprised because the baby was showing his/her legs, arms, feet and hands the entire time! There were SO many opportunities for a better picture and this is what I'm stuck with!! Argh!

2. Home schooling Kristin in 1st grade (if I can make it through this year)!

3. Hopefully Jason will have a better work schedule next year (it'll be his last year of Anesthesiology Residency)! It'll also be our last year in San Antonio (Lord willing) and we'll know where we're moving to from here!! Hooray!

Now I'm tagging Laura, Marigold and Angela! You don't have to attach pictures if you don't want to. I just added them for a little extra oomph! ;)

Wow! I didn't realize how much Kristin looks like you until you posted that picture of yourself as a kiddo! Now I want to see more comparisons of you and Jason as kids and Kristin and Katie. Go!

And at least you didn't get ultrasound pics of placenta on X-ray film like I did for Milo.

P.S. Disneyland is only 10 miles north of us and Newport Beach is even closer, you big dork! I could've met you for lunch at Downtown Disney or something! So sad :(
